Hello AlexJ, welcome to Wikisource! Thanks for your interest in the project; we hope you'll enjoy the community and your work here.

You'll find an (incomplete) index of our works listed at Wikisource:Works, although for very broad categories like poetry you may wish to look at the categories like Category:Poems instead.

Please take a glance at our help pages (especially Adding texts and Wikisource's style guide). Most questions and discussions about the community are in the Scriptorium.

The Community Portal lists tasks you can help with if you wish. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my talk page!

Great to see some London Times articles getting added, you may also want to add that article (and any future ones) to Wikisource:Sports. Once an individual sport is large enough, we'll also give it a page of its own. If you have any questions, just ask! To improve the ease with which other sites can copy our texts (since obviously they're public domain and we'd like them spread around as much as possible), we do not include page numbers or replicate columns as you suggest - except in the case of poetry. In poetry, putting <poem></poem> tags around a poem will mean that it will retain its spacing as typed - without the need for BR tags. Deleted local copy of FIA file

[edit]

Gday. We are able to directly access Commons files, and as the file that you uploaded is at Commons, I have deleted the local copy of the file. -- billinghurst (talk) 11:10, 5 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

{{textinfo}}

[edit]

For the descriptive part that you have just undertaken, I would encourage you to utilise the template {{textinfo}}. Plus we have a gadget that allows the loading of relevant headers, and this is one for the talk page in the main namespace. Not sure whether you have or not, however, you can use {{edition}} to refer to the talk page, from the work page. — billinghurst sDrewth 13:28, 14 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

Generally we create Index pages for all image files as this allows it to go through the proofread process. From there you will see that I did promote the work to proofread, and you may wish to go and promote it to Validated. Billinghurst (talk) 04:45, 13 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

I have done move the NYT transcript into an Index page and pulled the other pages around it into the standard schema. It may be of interest to you that we have a whole shedload of New York Times available. Have a peek at Portal:The New York Times for current articles, and at The New York Times for links to lists of uploaded images. — billinghurst sDrewth 16:29, 8 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
