Where would you like to start?

I've put the formal welcome above here really to give you a set of links that will help with sorting things out.

I'm very happy to help you get set up for the first book. I've found over the years of helping new people that it's easiest to just think about one phase of the process at a time. The most fun part of the process is proofreading the text and then seeing it grow into a work, rather than fighting the arcana of Commons and archive.org. Beeswaxcandle, thank you for being helpful. I hate being the new fish in the pond, but I guess that's me right now. The book that I first was researching is -The First Book of Napoleon- ( https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_First_Book_of_Napoleon )so I would be very grateful if you would help me in whatever way you can. I have to go to bed right now (it's 3:45am here and I was supposed to be in bed 4 hours ago!). I'll check this tomorrow and get to getting. Don't be afraid to just point me to the page that tells how to do something if that works for you. I can read, AND I'm not shy about asking questions if I don't understand something. Hope you had a good sleep! I've set up Index:The First Book of Napoleon.djvu for you. I suggest you skip over the roman numeral pages to begin with, only they've got some messy formatting on the table of contents. But, if you're feeling brave have a look at the way I've done the similar pages for Index:A Voyage of Discovery and Research in the Southern and Antarctic Regions Vol 2.djvu. I've also proofread a couple of the text pages to give you a start on the templates that we have available to do various things. Help:Beginner's guide to proofreading is a good place to start.
