@Beeswaxcandle: thank you for your kind welcome. I have probably typical beginners question. How to deal and markup typos like this? Help:Editing says
original texts should not be changed, except for correcting errors
while Help:Annotating says
works must be faithful to the original, which means any errors in the original should be faithfully replicated on Wikisource.
My correction based on page Page:Aunt Caroline's Dixieland Recipes.djvu/11. KaMan (talk) 06:36, 10 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
What we do with typos like this is to leave them as they are typed, but wrap them in a {{SIC}} template. You can choose whether to put the correct spelling as a second parameter, or just to mark it. So, {{SIC|Louisiania}} gives Louisiania or {{SIC|Louisiania|Louisiana}} gives Louisiania. The second gives the correct version as a tool-tip, the first just says "sic" in the tooltip. If it's an obvious typo that can't be mistaken for anything else (like this one) I tend to leave out the correct spelling. If the correct spelling is essential for understanding, then I'll put it in. The third scenario is that it's wrong, but I have no idea what should be there and again I just leave it as the first option. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 08:08, 10 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
P.S. Thanks for noting the apparent conflict in our help pages. I've adjusted the wording of Help:Editing to say "except for correcting transcription errors". This is about problems in the OCR when compared with the scan of the original page, rather than errors in the original page. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 08:13, 10 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Beeswaxcandle: Thank you for your valuable advice. Could you please look into Page:Aunt Caroline's Dixieland Recipes.djvu/12 and Page:Aunt Caroline's Dixieland Recipes.djvu/13? There are two recipes added by me Aunt Caroline's Dixieland Recipes/Cakes/Chocolate Sauce and Aunt Caroline's Dixieland Recipes/Pickles, Relishes/Cucumber Pickle not listed in original TOC. Can I insert them with {{SIC}} too? Is there any other markup for inserting errors with missing content? KaMan (talk) 08:42, 13 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

We do this by using a special template on the mainspace page. Have a look at {{AuxTOC}}. We don't add them to the Page. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 08:42, 17 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Beeswaxcandle: I see, so You mean I have to copy or rewrite all 5 pages of TOC, not verified on Pages yet, just to add 2 lines? KaMan (talk) 07:42, 18 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
No, just add the extra recipes in the template at the end of the transcluded TOC. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 07:52, 18 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Beeswaxcandle: I've finally finished my book. Is progress on index page marked properly? KaMan (talk) 11:42, 16 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

You need to mark your proofread pages as "proofread" (i.e. turn them yellow) before the Index can be marked as ready to validate (turn the pages green). Beeswaxcandle (talk) 08:42, 17 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Beeswaxcandle: Can I turn them yellow, if I'm the one who turned them red? Is there any other index status to flag that all pages are already created? KaMan (talk) 07:42, 18 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
There are five possible statuses for a page: without text (grey); Problematic (blue); Not-Proofread (red); Proofread (yellow); Validated (green). The ideal is that two different editors proofread each page. Once a page has been completely proofread, the page should be turned yellow. The second proofreader (the validator) then comes along and double-checks the page. When the second editor completes checking the page, they mark it green. We only mark an Index as completely proofread when all pages are either grey, yellow or green. We then mark the Index as validated (or "done") when there is no yellow left. [P.S. You don't need to ping me as I'm watching this page.] Beeswaxcandle (talk) 07:52, 18 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
