Category:Authors
[edit]No Authors should be listed in this base-level category. Either a nation must be specified, or the category removed altogether. Please do not put Authors into Category:Authors. --EncycloPetey (talk) 19:28, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- Why? This doesn't make sense.Sapphorain (talk) 19:30, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- Have you looked at the contents of Category:Authors? There are no Authors categorized there, and none should be. --EncycloPetey (talk) 19:31, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- Ok, ok, calm down. That's not a reason to block me. You appear to have quite a quick temper. It's as simple as this: Genevans born and died in Geneva before 1815 never were Swiss; they were citizens of the independent Republic of Geneva (since 1541). So it is an anachronism to qualify them as "Swiss". Sapphorain (talk) 19:46, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- Neither of us said they were Swiss; and I do understand political history. I'm sorry that you do not understand the problem with your edits. --EncycloPetey (talk) 19:49, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- But I understand perfectly well the problem. He should not be categorized as "Author", and he should not be categorized as "Swiss author". But presently he is categorized as "Swiss author", and this should not be. Sapphorain (talk) 19:55, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- So you know that you were repeatedly making a categorization mistake, but you still plan to make the same mistake again? --EncycloPetey (talk) 19:57, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- Apparently you didn't read or understood what I wrote, so I shall repeat: "I understand perfectly well the problem. He should not be categorized as "Author", and he should not be categorized as "Swiss author". But presently he is categorized as "Swiss author", and this should not be." So if he is categorized at all as "Author", there should be some qualification, and this qualification should not be "Swiss". Sapphorain (talk) 20:04, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- So what solution do you plan to use? --EncycloPetey (talk) 20:07, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- The "Category: Swiss author" must be suppressed in any case, since it is incorrect. "Category: Author from the Republic of Geneva" would be a good solution. Sapphorain (talk) 20:13, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
