EO signatures
[edit]Hi! Thanks again for helping me with the EOs. I just want to say something about Trump's signature. You should use [[File:Donald Trump presidential signature.png|right|145px]] and then add {{clear}} on the next line. This is because the signature is the same one used in the PDF file of the EO. Hope this helps! KINGDM76 (talk) 18:45, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
- @KINGDM76: I've never really considered signatures to be a particularly unique kind of image between individual signatures themselves and had assumed that a PNG of his signature could be reasonably replaced with a vector equivalent which would have all the benefits that vectorization has, since it is practically identical in appearance to the scanned version. Does Trump actually write his signature manually for each executive order or is it pre-printed?
- Additionally, I've been using {{EOsignature}} because it automatically takes care of the formatting, and I've just added functionality to it that allows it to automatically insert the appropriate signature depending on the year specified in its parameters rather than having it specified manually each time. Ultimately if you were to subst it, the output would be identical to what you've been inserting manually (minus the registry filing+billing information which I haven't been including). I'm honestly not entirely sure why you've been filling it out manually, overriding the template; you would be able to manually specify the signature with the scanned one inside of EOsignature just as easily, if not more so. — rae5e <talk> 23:30, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
PD-old
[edit]This license template only applies when the author died at least 100 years ago. --EncycloPetey (talk) 04:10, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
- @EncycloPetey That was an accident born purely out of habit on my part. I am aware of this and I apologize for the error. — rae5e <talk> 04:39, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
- No need to apologize, as we all make mistakes. I just wanted to be sure you knew, as this is one of the license templates that is different between WS and Commons, despite having the same name. --EncycloPetey (talk) 04:47, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
