New Wikisource for Oriya-language texts[edit]

Oriya Wikisource logo

The Oriya-language Wikisource was created on October 20 as the 65th Wikisource language subdomain. Oriya is the official language in Odisha and the second official language in Jharkhand. There are now language subdomains for nine Indic languages: Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Sanskrit, and Tamil. As stated in the 2011–2015 Wikimedia Foundation strategic plan, India is a key area for increasing the participation to Wikimedia projects, as well as Brazil and the Arab world.

Collaborations for November 2014[edit]

With regard to the Proofread of the Month, November is Validation month. We will focus on already proofread works which only need to be validated.

The Maintenance of the Month for November 2014 is Work index revision. The current work index is actually an incomplete list of portals, thus being too close to the portal index. Other formats, such as alphabetical indexing of texts, could be used.
