1949 Deaths

Should we link to Category:1949 deaths, especially without clarification, when it only applies to works not published by 2002? That's a pretty narrow set of works.--Prosfilaes (talk) 01:48, 16 December 2019 (UTC)

Works published before 1925 are PD in the US, but not necessarily elsewhere. However, if the author of such a work died in 1949 (or earlier), then any such works published by that author in the UK (for example) will also be PD in the UK, and can therefore be hosted on Commons. --EncycloPetey (talk) 02:10, 16 December 2019 (UTC)

So…timezones matter for this? ;) I'm happy to set to work on the Boxcar Children DJVU as soon as someone uploads it; other works might include The Strangelands: Birds of Antarctica, Islam and the Psychology of Mussulmans and The Conquest of Virginia, hitting biology, religion and history Lemuritus (talk) 02:51, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
