@Xover: I doubt that the assignation of Charles Ball to that person in Wikidata is correct. I see no evidence that the Afro-American slave wrote about or visited India. — billinghurst sDrewth 04:03, 2 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

To note that the date of publication is not correct as that Indian mutiny is not until the mid 1850s, and that scan is problematic, scans and text do not align, not even close. Couldn't tell how far apart they were. — billinghurst sDrewth 04:08, 2 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Billinghurst: The scan is off because I haven't uploaded the fixed version yet. :) --Xover (talk) 07:17, 2 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Xover: okay. I did see other versions at IA, and to note that I am guessing that it was published late 1850s based on active dates of publisher. — billinghurst sDrewth 11:06, 2 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Billinghurst: I'm seeing some indication it was serialised in 1858–9, suggesting bound publication in 1860 (and that date does appear in some places). If the Sepoy Mutiny was 1857–59 then those dates are tight but hold up. --Xover (talk) 11:10, 2 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
