@Billinghurst: All we know about him is that he wrote "The Lost Express", a short story for Boys' Life, published March 1911. That magazine was based in Boston, MA at the time. Any possible leads? PseudoSkull (talk) 16:38, 24 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@PseudoSkull: Best guess is an alias or a name variation. There are no "John Carisford" in the US 1900, 1910, 1920 census—closest is Crisford a mail clerk in Dubuque, Iowa, b. circa 1868 . And the name pretty much is a dud for searches. — billinghurst sDrewth 23:19, 24 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
