Sources[edit]

Published work is definitely Holcraft, though wonder whether many records of the time may list as Holcroft, or modern transcriptions may be that way. Work also says "B.A." and it is not in alumni register for Cambridge or Oxford under either spelling. Not in Uni of London registers of deaths to 1890, though that started 1836 so not really a target. As the third "Uni" in England started circa 1826, one then looks to Glasgow (no), Edinburgh, and Dublin no.

Otherwise need to start to look to the European universities.

No hits for Holcraft in newspapers through Gale Primary Sources, incl. The Times. — billinghurst sDrewth 08:17, 11 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

1824?[edit]

WorldCat lists the first edition of Holcraft's book (Tales from the German) as 1826, but this article lists 1824 in the description and also as the date of Tales of Humour and Romance (the 1829 reprint). Are there any sources that give 1824 as the year he first published? --YodinT 03:52, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
