Schedules to the Constitution[edit]

The Preamble to the Constitution is there, and so, shouldn't all the Schedules also be there? And perhaps the Appendices also? - sol (61.95.192.125 13:14, 5 October 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Kudos to wikisource[edit]

Kudos to Wikisource for publishing "Constitution of India" as it is, for the common man to read. In fact even in my 10th Class social studies book,The Constitution of India,is briefly explained in less than 10 A5 size pages!!

I request every Indian to read this article fully.

Why is this protected?[edit]

Why are we protecting the text of the Constitution of India? All articles containing the text of each part has been protected until 2020 because this is "the 1949 version of the Constitution, it should not be updated to reflect later amendments". Why doesn't the title of the article reflect this? If that was the case, why isn't it called "Constitution of India (1949)" or similar? Also, these articles CLEARLY contain all the first 98 amendments. In fact, the whole blockage occured after I tried updating Parts V and VI (I think) to reflect the amendments made by the (admittedly now challenged) 99th Amendement? If we are letting the first 98 amendments be inserted, but block 99 and later, on the basis this is the original text, then what is going on? I understand any concerns, but completely blocking it is WAY over the top. I think we need to revert it. Now. 115.188.224.121 08:26, 28 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think that you have identified yourself why it is protected as people keep trying to keep the document current, which is not the purpose of wikisource, as we would host each and every (static) version at each point of time. The work needs to be rolled back to the original version that was uploaded and labelled clearly as that version. I don't know the document so cannot say which is the version that was original uploaded. — billinghurst sDrewth 09:03, 28 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Original Constitution or Updated one?[edit]

If this is meant to be the original constitution as in 1949, then why are certain Articles stated as "repealed" if the repealing was done after 1949? JainismWikipedian (talk) 16:36, 14 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
