It would be courteous for you to offer a reason why you performed reverts such as this one, rather than simply reverting without comment as though I were a vandal. Hesperian 23:20, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

Wikilinks do not change the original text, there is no reason to see them as "misrepresentation". Why not remove the "see" and "q.v." links, too — they are no different. Those people who are very anxious with "original look" should use the scanned images directly. Electronic text readers are lazier than paper book readers — they need one-click reference, or they will not look any further at all. — Monedula (talk) 04:25, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

Wikisource User Group

Wikisource, the free digital library is moving towards better implementation of book management, proofreading and uploading. All language communities are very important in Wikisource. We would like to propose a Wikisource User Group, which would be a loose, volunteer organization to facilitate outreach and foster technical development, join if you feel like helping out. This would also give a better way to share and improve the tools used in the local Wikisources. You are invited to join the mailing list 'wikisource-l' (English), the IRC channel #wikisource, the facebook page or the Wikisource twitter. As a part of the Google Summer of Code 2013, there are four projects related to Wikisource. To get the best results out of these projects, we would like your comments about them. The projects are listed at Wikisource across projects. You can find the midpoint report for developmental work done during the IEG on Wikisource here.

Atlas de Filipinas

I see on the maps that you've added text (such as on Page:Atlas de Filipinas.djvu/27). But the text does not appear on the page in the scan. Where is the text coming from? Transcriptions should not add text that is not present in the original. --EncycloPetey (talk) 18:08, 18 July 2023 (UTC)

You mean the "№ 1. Pacífico"? It is written on the map, inside the round emblem at the right of the image. In fact it is the title of the map. Without such comments it is very difficult to understand what the map is about, without looking inside it carefully. — Monedula (talk) 18:28, 18 July 2023 (UTC)

From the WS:MOS: "Text formatting should mimic the original document to show the work as presented, within reasonable limits." Please use capitals when the original uses capitals. It is the goal of Wikisource to present the work as published. --EncycloPetey (talk) 19:49, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
