Licensing

[edit]

A translation needs a license for the original, as well as a license for the English translation (based on the date of publication of the translation, and the date of death of the translator). See Eclogues of Virgil (1908) for one example. --EncycloPetey (talk) 15:00, 15 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

If I am judging correctly from the Commons link you added, this is your own translation, and not a published translation. Is this correct? If so, the work should be moved to Translation:Motherly Education, since it is a user-created translation. --EncycloPetey (talk) 15:03, 15 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Yes, you are correct, it is my own translation, I already moved it. Polmas (talk) 15:09, 15 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Next question: Is the Catalan text published on the Catalan Wikisource, with a backing scan? For original translations hosted here, it is required that the original text be present in the original language at that Wikisource, so that we can link to it. --EncycloPetey (talk) 15:29, 15 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
No, this is not available at the moment. Polmas (talk) 16:01, 15 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
