Purpose?[edit]

Can someone please explain what this is for? :) — Sam Wilson ( TalkContribs ) … 23:56, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

See example Page:Scaramouche.djvu/9. I really don't like "painting" text as to appear if it was a working link when it's not. Otherwise, a fairy pointless template imho. -- George Orwell III (talk) 00:57, 13 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hm, yeah I see. How odd! :) I agree, it seems a bit strange. There's things like this too. I guess I was thinking that {{R}} should be a bit like {{C}} except for right-alignment. The darkblue seems quite at odds to most other templates (introducing colour where there usually isn't any in the original work). The other issue is that it sets the id attribute, possibly to a value that's not valid.

@Zyephyrus, @Jamesx12345: you’ve used this recently I think, what do you think?

No opinion about Scaramouche ; about Cuore please feel free to change the formatting

<br />

<br />

{{center|{{x-larger|Title}} }}

<br />

{{r|-----     Date     -----}}

<br />

into a better indication of title and date. Thanks  :-)

I hadn't noticed this template {{r}} would be exactly what I needed, I would have used it of course!

I think in something like this the {{r}} template is very useful. Don't you think so?

Isn't that what {{pline}} is for? Beeswaxcandle (talk) 09:38, 13 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I think e.g. {{pline|123|r}} would have the same effect as seems to be being aimed at with {{r|123}}, and doesn’t have the potential problems with the ID attribute (and has a non-link colour). And I've fixed that date formatting above (just simple; forgive me if I've lost any nuance in the process; change at will).

I'd like to suggest changing this template, but I haven’t really got the energy at the moment to do the work, so shall not do anything at this time. That’s pretty lazy of me, I know… :) — Sam Wilson ( TalkContribs ) … 00:35, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I can do a history merging: do you think it would be the right thing to do? --Zyephyrus (talk) 23:15, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
