column numbering[edit]

the work has the individual columns numbered rather than the pages, so there are 2 numbered per page.

Trying to represent in the pagelist would need to be done manually by numbering each page with an odd number leading to a long cumbersome pagelist. I don't see the value in that so will just number the pages consecutively. This will need an explanation when the work is transcluded that the page numbers will essentially need to be doubled to represent the column. — billinghurst sDrewth 14:28, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Fixed. Easy to generate in a spreadsheet, then export as text. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:40, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Sure it wasn't the difficulty, but it is a cumbersome long pagelist. But what the heck. — billinghurst sDrewth 02:10, 18 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Regex for compiled list[edit]

For the list of articles at the front of the work, format to double spaced lines, person per line

  • Regex for changing the upper case to lower case
/\n([A-Z][^,]+?),/g
"insert page return" add "{{subst:ucfirst:{{subst:lc:$1}}}},"
Note: will need to fix up names with hyphens, as easier to manually correct

  • Regex for link creation and formatting
/\n([A-Z][^,]+?)(, )([^,]+?)(, |\n)/g
"insert page return" add "{{BDMR lkpl|$1$2$3|{{sc|$1}}$2$3}}$4"
Note: watch out for supplementary list names as names may end with periods rather than commas, so consider temporary switch of character for replacement.

Rider: based on first page text, and there may be errors in original, or variations through work. — billinghurst sDrewth 02:18, 18 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Comment The compiled list won't be perfect there will be some mistakes like missing accents. Experience tells me that we will likely have name errors/variations in the compilation from the names themselves, so trying to get it as right possible in the easiest form, and we can fix in the transclusion phase. — billinghurst sDrewth 10:00, 18 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Supplementary list[edit]

There is a supplementary list of articles. Will need to determine whether we just go with a continuous list per presented and have the pages shuffle, or to excise and separately present the supplementary list in its own running order. Only matters when comes to transclusion and order determination. — billinghurst sDrewth 02:22, 18 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
