Copyright status of the original Swahili work and of the English translation posted here

The few sources I found showing the history of the anthem seemed to suggest that the work was originally written in both languages, rather than translated. It's not conclusive but good enough for me to assume this position unless evidence turns up to the contrary.

With regard to the copyright of the original, the first copyright discussion shows that the copyright, as a government-commissioned work, expired in Kenya 25 years after publication, and would not therefore have been restored by URAA. The second discussion was based on {{PD-EdictGov}} being incorrect (which is true), so I have used a more accurate license tag. —Beleg Tâl (talk) 02:57, 5 July 2018 (UTC)

Two things: 1) A scan of the 1968 National Flag, Emblems and Names act with the text and score is available here. 2. The Kenyan copyright expired in 2013 per the copyright board MarkLSteadman (talk) 01:50, 4 August 2021 (UTC)
