==override title Is it possible to link to an article, whose title is different from the title of the Wikisource page? Some journal titles are too long and have to be shortened to name a Wikisource page. --Jan Kameníček (talk) 13:39, 5 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

For example the title Extract of a Letter from Mr. John Horsley Fourth Mate on board the Glatton East-India Ship, to the Rev. Mr. Nevil Maskelyne, F. R. S. dated Batavia, Nov. 16, 1763, giving an Account of his Observations, at Sea, for finding out the Longitude by the Moon will have to be shortened into e. g. Philosophical Transacations/Volume 54/Extract of a Letter from Mr. John Horsley Fourth Mate on board the Glatton East-India Ship, to the Rev. Mr. Nevil Maskelyne, F. R. S. dated Batavia, Nov. 16, 1763, giving an Account of his Observations, at Sea, as the software does not allow to name it [[Philosophical Transacations/Volume 54/Extract of a Letter from Mr. John Horsley Fourth Mate on board the Glatton East-India Ship, to the Rev. @Billinghurst: I tried to add a separate link parameter, but did not succeed. Could you have a look at it, please? --Jan Kameníček (talk) 16:12, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

as a note, it is a bit of a beast this template. In this template the parameter names conflicted with those used elsewhere in others, and they can seem back to front when needed to be overwritten/overridden. Ambiguity is a bit of a killer, and that happens with so many writing templates. — billinghurst sDrewth 22:13, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect, thanks very much! --Jan Kameníček (talk) 23:19, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
