Formatting[edit]

Hi!

I saw your proofreading of Page:Illustrations of China and Its People vol. I. 2ed edition.pdf/5 and I wanted to drop by to mention a few things. First of all, if the text on the scan is centered, you should center it in your proofread version as well. This can be done using the {{center}} template. Second, this is a title page and has a lot of differently sized text; you should try to proofread that as well. Some templates for bigger text are {{larger}}, {{x-larger}}, and {{xx-larger}}; some templates for smaller text are {{smaller}}, {{x-smaller}}, and {{xx-smaller}}. Finally, this page has a lot of images, like fancy initial letters and spacers; those need to be proofread as well. You can use the {{image missing}} template to indicate that there should be a picture at that position. (Remember to mark the status as 'problematic' if you use this template.)

I find the Help pages to be very helpful in explaining how to proofread things properly and what templates to use in different situation.

Hope this helps -- Mukkakukaku (talk) 17:04, 18 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't Kindle take an Epub format?[edit]

We did talk about mobi ages ago, and I think that I was told that epub and mobi were mostly similar and readily interchangeable. All of our works are downloadable as epub, though out tool (http://wsexport.wmflabs.org/tool/book.php?lang=en) should be readily able to take mobi I would have thought. I believe that I have seen epub -> mobi converters fwiw. — billinghurst sDrewth 14:48, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
