Previous Question (Context)

Hi, I am part of a group that is interested in Malaysian government documents.

We would like to contribute Malaysian government documents to Portal:Malaysia. At the same time we would also like to then link the pages to an external website that would discuss said documents. Would that violate any policies/rules?

So as an example, in a page for the Education Blueprint of Malaysia.

Would it be acceptable to add links that lead to forums or blogs that expands and/or discuss the document on the page?

And would it be possible to tag said links as opinions? (Azfar (talk) 06:06, 23 January 2013 (UTC))Reply

Our endeavour is to reproduce the original documents, then the level of any further link addition within the text is for linking within Wikisource to other documents or authors as relevant, though there can be some value to links that add clarification. We would generally not be adding active links "within the body" of a work to a blog or forum. If that sort of linking was relevant and pertinent, then a single non-controversial link in the notes section of {{header}} may be the route to undertake, though we would encourage you to utilise the edition parameter of header edition = yes which will put an active link to the talk page of the work. From that talk page you can be a little more adventurous in adding some links and context to the link, and purpose. To note that this should pretty well replicate my answering your other question at the other page. — billinghurst sDrewth 01:22, 1 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
