Public domain[edit]

This is the best simple list for trying to explain what is in the public domain in the US

Someone only has the right to publish work that is in the public domain, or work that complies with copyright law. Someone cannot claim copyright on someone else's intellectual property unless it has been legally acquired and is not already in the public domain. — billinghurst sDrewth 01:26, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much...this is very helpful.

FBI case file for the Zodiac[edit]

Would this be the place to upload the FBI's public version of the case file on the Zodiac Killer? 1037 pages in 5 files. Names and addresses have been blacked out in the public version and it's in the public domain. They are pdf format. If not here, should it go to the Commons? Thank you for your help, btw. :)

Will upload at Commons.

Definitely to Commons. Then you will need to create an Index:filename.pdf here that corresponds with the filename at Commons. From there work can begin in the Page: namespace. Read: Help:Proofread and give us a hoy if needed. — billinghurst sDrewth 03:45, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hide revision[edit]

For privacy reasons could you please hide the references to the older accounts, I had confessed my home address with one of them to other users in private and kindly request that you hide them, I changed the passwords of both of them to gibberish and kindly ask that you don't bring them up, as for the claim of illegitimate socking, after I had changed the password of one of them I made the other to create redirects, but I never tried to fake consensus and read the policy on multiple accounts, but for privacy reasons I request that you leave them out. And kindly don't connect them to my account, if you would ever see one of them edit feel free to block them but they're not sleepers or anything and I don't want them to be retroactively associated with my misconduct now. -- DonTrung (徵國單)  (討論 🤙🏻) (方孔錢 ☯) 00:25, 8 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I am only asking it here to keep attention to it to a minimum, everyone there has seen it and you can claim that I've "illegitimately socked" before, but I don't want someone whom I told my address to know of this. I'm not asking to censor this, just the names of the accounts. And if you look at the edits I made with the associated IP I clearly explained which account I previously had, and that IP can also be traced to my house as I also said that I was that IP with that account. Please reply on Commons. -- DonTrung (徵國單)  (討論 🤙🏻) (方孔錢 ☯) 00:26, 8 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Donald Trung:, I have received your emails but I can't undo what has been done. For clarity, no, the IP that led to those accounts does not come up in your current CU results nor any IP in the same range. That wasn't how I discovered them. I made my discovery when looking at common articles and did some old fashioned backtracking here and then looked through the range...and then I CU-checked it afterwards to be sure but you weren't in it.
