Fidelity[edit]

Wikisource maintains texts as they were printed. Wikisource does not modernize spelling, phrasing, or punctuation to modern norms. In many cases, 19th-century standards differ from those used in the 21st century. For example, in place the modern word "percent", it is common to see "per cent." as an abbreviation of Latin per centum in 19th-century texts. Please do not modernize texts, but do correct texts to more closely match their printed originals where a scan is available for comparison. --EncycloPetey (talk) 22:55, 25 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
