References and Licensing

When adding references, they should be placed in the notes= parameter of the header. The reference is not part of the letter or document, and so should not appear in the body of the document. This is a significant difference of Wikisource from the way Wikipedia operated.

Also, every text must have a license statement indicating its copyright status. Even old letters can potentially be under copyright, if they were published after the author's death.
