Popular Science Monthly aka PSM[edit]

- Actually, I have a question regarding validation. I've been validating some PSM pages and have occasionally fixed and found a few small last errors (punctuation or a missing header). So far I wasn't sure if that meant I should save those changes with proofread status (to get some extra validation on my edits) or if I can use "validated". What is your advice? Thanks! - If you corrected a proofread page, it is then validated and mark it so. If you correct a validated page, as I have done here, just add a short description. . . . I use 'running header' or 'rh', and for other typo corrections I use 'minor correction' etc. In the above example, I added the running header. FYI, missing PSM headers were my doing years ago, so I feel a special responsibility to re-add them. :-) — Ineuw talk 11:17, 11 November 2012 (UTC)

A note about wikilinks[edit]
We haven't been acquainted, so a little hello from me, and I hope that you're enjoying your editing. I patrolled and validated this page that you recently proofread. I thought that it may be of interest to show some of the wikilinking that we do internally. We look to link authors, and book titles and it doesn't matter if we are left with redlinks. In this case, we didn't have the author page, so it has been created on this occasion too, not that we have that expectation. — billinghurst sDrewth 13:01, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know, I'll definitely remember to add wikilinks to authors and book titles. I also noticed that you turned the 'rh' template into 'RunningHeader', is that generally preferred for readability of the "raw" text? I'm still pretty new to WikiSource, so I'm still learning a lot about styles and templates. Marjoleinkl (talk) 13:08, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

- Judgement call. Usually would only do it once per chapter of a work, lighter linking, and where it adds value. So, based upon that page alone, I would have linked, however, if there was a list of 20 authors out for dinner, probably not unless it really added value to the work. — billinghurst sDrewth 14:12, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
