Outdated markup

[edit]

Please do not replace the CSS syntax with overly complex syntax. The existing syntax is correct. --EncycloPetey (talk) 01:12, 31 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

How about now? 82.167.174.165 01:16, 31 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Those templates are neither necessary nor desirable. Replacing the work done by the original proofreading is completely unnecessary. --EncycloPetey (talk) 01:17, 31 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
As you say so, don't forget to fix missing does not exist pages. 82.167.174.165 01:24, 31 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
There are no such missing pages. The proofread made use of relative links, and there is no issue in either the Page namespace nor the Mainspace. The only problem were created when you added a transcluded contents to the Index. If you revert that, then there are no issues. --EncycloPetey (talk) 01:30, 31 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Good luck

I very deliberately do not use dotted markup on most TOC pages. It is not required and frequently makes the pages look ugly when transcluded. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 08:48, 31 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Well, my experience is different, dotted lines always look very well to me, and as they are not forbidden, the user should be allowed to use them. --Jan Kameníček (talk) 10:45, 31 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
I am sorry, only now I have noticed that the original contribution by Beeswaxcandle did not use the dotted lines and so the original contributor's approach should be respected. --Jan Kameníček (talk) 10:51, 31 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks 82.167.174.165 13:09, 31 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
As Jan has said, please respect the original contribution by Beeswaxcandle that did not use the dotted lines. --EncycloPetey (talk) 14:49, 31 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Why? 82.167.174.165 14:54, 31 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
When more ways are possible and when there is not a clear consensus which approach should be preferred, it is a good practice to respect the original contributor's approach. --Jan Kameníček (talk) 19:32, 31 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Header linking

[edit]

When linking the main page from the header, it is better to use relative links like this. That way, the links will continue to work, even in the event the pages of the work have to be moved, such as for disambiguation. --EncycloPetey (talk) 17:48, 4 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
