Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society[edit]

For some of these, the files have already been uploaded to Commons and transcribed here. In those situations, no external link from Wikisource is necessary, since the file is already local. A second (external) link would be redundant. --EncycloPetey (talk) 14:56, 21 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, EncycloPetey. Thank you for your kind note. Indeed, I didn't realise that all the pages with red links of the volumes 1-37 and of some others have already an uploaded scan. In the German Wikisource, pages are quite often used as permanent link collections to digitised items. I appreciate these links a lot and often use them professionally. So it's possible to refer from many Wikipedia language pages to the wikisource entry in the original language, e. g. s:de:Wilhelm_Dörpfeld. Depending the second links: I have not controlled the quality of the scans, but in many other cases I was annoyed by missing pages, scans inappropriate for OCR, not to mention the quality of illustrations.
