Rig Veda[edit]

The "migration" to a sourced copy will not necessarily alter the structure of break any linking. The goal is to use transcluded text verified from a side-by-side source, not to actually change the location of the text pages. In this case "migration" does not imply a move of any pages, but rather a confirmation of their content from a printed source copy. --EncycloPetey (talk) 00:11, 19 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

@EncycloPetey: Thank you for clarifying, my mistake. Lately I've been relying on Wikisource for sourcing Sanskrit terms on Wiktionary, and I didn't want any broken links to be made. Thanks once again. Aryamanarora (talk) 00:22, 19 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
@EncycloPetey: In this case, the name of the text is likely to change on migration. Griffith's translation is called The Hymns of the Rigveda. There are other translations too. Current translation here is Griffith's. So, on migration to sourced version, it will become The Hymns of the Rigveda and The Rig Veda will become a versions page. That is the logical outcome. That's one possibility. But until the content and names are dealt with, no change will happen. In any event, we prefer a scan-backed copy at Wikisource over a copy with a scan backing it. I too have worked a lot on Wikationry, providing citations, and that's one reason I ended up here. I've found that the best way to link to citations on Wikisource is to set up a template at Wiktionary for the work being cited, at least for works that are being cited often. That way, if there is a change, it can be a lot easier to adjust a single template than to track down all the individual citations. --EncycloPetey (talk) 01:25, 19 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
