Sources required, and preferably scans[edit]

Hi. Where the Wikipedias require citable references for statements, we require links or clearly identified sources to demonstrate that the work is out of copyright, and is a published work (WS:WWI). Ideally we look to work from available scans as that allows other people to verify someone's proofreading and make for a better quality reproduction. More information in the above links. — billinghurst sDrewth 22:22, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Scans that are no longer under copyright in their country of origin should be uploaded to Commons, rather than to Wikisource. That way, they are available for use on any MediaWiki project. --EncycloPetey (talk) 23:00, 9 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
