Hi, Shells-shells! I came across this transcription project and a page you proof-read and just wanted to note that it is generally preferable to use straight quotes (") instead of curly ones as it becomes easier to keep them consistent given the collaborative nature of our projects, as per our style guide. Thanks! Ciridae (talk) 09:54, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know. I'll keep that in mind for the future :) Shells-shells (talk) 17:06, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

SVG logos for Book Publishers[edit]

Would you mind creating SVG versions of the publisher logos on the following pages: Page:The Case of Charles Dexter Ward - Lovecraft - 1971.pdf/5, Page:The common reader.djvu/9, Page:Robert William Cole - The Struggle for Empire; A Story of the Year 2236 (1900).djvu/9? I've created a category for them at c:Category:Logos of publishing companies in SVG. Languageseeker (talk) 17:05, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Languageseeker: They have been uploaded at c:File:Harcourt Brace & Co. logo.svg, c:File:Del Rey logo.svg, and c:File:Elliot Stock acorn symbol.svg (and placed in the new category). I hope they will suffice; I am by no means a very experienced SVG artist, so they may not be perfect. Shells-shells (talk) 05:50, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
They look beautiful thank you. Languageseeker (talk) 15:42, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Would you mind also doing one for Arthur H. Clark Company? I found a good representation of there logo here. Languageseeker (talk)
@Languageseeker: Just to make sure—you would like this in B&W too, right? Shells-shells (talk) 02:25, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, b&w is the correct color. The cover is just the crispiest version of logo I could find. Thanks! Languageseeker (talk) 02:45, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Languageseeker It has been uploaded at c:File:Arthur H Clark logo.svg. The text is perhaps a little kludged together (it's just Linux Libertine bolded, squished, and stretched a bit) but I think it looks approximately right. Shells-shells (talk) 07:27, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, the "The" and "CO" looks a bit off, but I guess that the best that can be had. Many thanks! Languageseeker (talk) 13:33, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Just a heads-up, this work has the same reference nightmare as Bayle’s General Dictionary, if you want a point of reference. TE(æ)A,ea. (talk) 01:28, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@TE(æ)A,ea. Initially it did look fearsome, but I think it's coming along nicely now. {{refn}} has worked well so far, and grouping notes together gives a mostly satisfactory end result (see User:Shells-shells/nested refs test). Using w:Help:cite link labels might slightly improve readability. Shells-shells (talk) 02:16, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

FYI[edit]

It appears that wasn't a one-off incident. I've asked about one at m:Steward requests/Miscellaneous#Policy tags. WhatamIdoing (talk) 19:45, 22 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

FYI, this is now done. Messed up story, IMO. I moved it to not have the year at the end, tho, and added the "year" field to the header templates... I doubt it's likely to collide with the name of another book.

Seriously, though.... weird story. Jarnsax (talk) 04:36, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Songs of Salvation and Service[edit]

You mentioned this work on the help forum a while ago, so I scanned it in (here). The specific item is number 70. TE(æ)A,ea. (talk) 23:04, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
