A collection of texts associated with the so-called Eastern Question, the diplomatic and political problems posed by the decay of the Ottoman Empire. The Eastern Question is usually dated from the defeat of the Ottomans in the Russo-Turkish War (1774) to the collapse of the Ottoman Empire (1918).
