Template talk:NYT ext link

Lifting to style

With our linking from author pages we have been trying to add more rigour to these links. If you have a look at {{The Times link}}, {{DNB link}}, {{EB1911 link}} you will see examples of the detail to which we have been progressing. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 00:49, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

@Billinghurst: doesn't really look like this template is the same kind as {{article link}}, it links to the NYT website rather than our mainspace? Inductiveload—talk/contribs 03:58, 20 May 2021 (UTC)

@Inductiveload: Negligible use. We can move the template to "NYT ext link" and run the bot through, and take over the name. Almost thinking that our external non-WMF linking templates would do well to be of the nomenclature "... ext link", knowing that some of them are my work too. — billinghurst sDrewth 05:17, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
