Lifting to style[edit]

With our linking from author pages we have been trying to add more rigour to these links. If you have a look at {{The Times link}}, {{DNB link}}, {{EB1911 link}} you will see examples of the detail to which we have been progressing. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 00:49, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

@Inductiveload: Feel up to the task of aligning this to {{article link}} and the hierarchy in place today? Happy to do a bot run for you if required so you can work on the important things. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 03:41, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Billinghurst: doesn't really look like this template is the same kind as {{article link}}, it links to the NYT website rather than our mainspace? Inductiveloadtalk/contribs 03:58, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Inductiveload: Negligible use. We can move the template to "NYT ext link" and run the bot through, and take over the name. Almost thinking that our external non-WMF linking templates would do well to be of the nomenclature "... ext link", knowing that some of them are my work too. — billinghurst sDrewth 05:17, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Billinghurst: Done and {{NYT link}} is now in place. Not sure what to do about the articles which aren't in the date hierarchy. Inductiveloadtalk/contribs 20:31, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Inductiveload: Thanks. One mouthful at a time. Fix the underlying so the crap stops getting worse, and build from there. — billinghurst sDrewth 02:29, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
