Welcome to Wikisource

Hello, Stombari2, and welcome to Wikisource! Thank you for joining the project. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

You may be interested in participating in

Add the code {{active projects}}, {{PotM}} or {{Collaboration/MC}} to your page for current Wikisource projects.

You can put a brief description of your interests on your user page and contributions to another Wikimedia project, such as Wikipedia and Commons.

I hope you enjoy contributing to Wikisource, the library that is free for everyone to use! In discussions, please "sign" your comments using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your username if you're logged in (or IP address if you are not) and the date. Again, welcome!

I'm new here.

Why did you block me?

Probably because you were changing spellings in certain pages to those which weren't present in the original. The only time you should change spellings is if there is an immediately obvious error (and even then using the {{SIC}} template to keep the error visible while making a note about its correction), and the kinds of changes you were making here are not corrections to obvious errors. Mahir256 (talk) 19:04, 8 April 2018 (UTC) @Stombari2:, if you didn't get the notification that either of us responded to your talk page. Mahir256 (talk) 21:21, 8 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You were also changing words into words not even remotely the same as the original text, which is vandialism. And changing templates that were working into templates that don't exist, which is vandalism. And marking pages as "proofread" that had not been proofread. In short, you were damaging the content of Wikisource and contributing nothing. So, please learn what we do on Wikisource, and how we do it before editing again. --EncycloPetey (talk) 19:32, 8 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I usually edit on pages with some words

Direction[edit]

Perhaps you can communicate how you would like to help out at Wikisource, and someone can offer suggestions for projects you might like to work on. Hoping you were able to look over the links above about what we do and how we do it. Londonjackbooks (talk) 22:49, 12 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Reapplied the block so we can talk without additional edits[edit]

Hi. You have had a bit of a rocky entry. We understand that you would like to edit at English Wikisource, and we would like to see positive, useful contributions, at this stage your edits have been problematic or unhelpful.

The purpose of English Wikisource is to reproduce works, not to simply create pages. If you would like to contribute to useful proofreading then please acknowledge and look to work with us. If that is not what you wish to do, then maybe is not the site for you. — billinghurst sDrewth 23:25, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have been through and applied corrections to how we would normally edit. If you look at special:contributions/Stombari2 then follow the edits you will see corrections on numbers. Also, working on your own works is often a hard way to learn. I would encourage you to look at our WS:Proofread of the Month and work with us on our chosen collaborative work, even if you follow on behind the initial proofreader and look at how we have been working. — billinghurst sDrewth 23:41, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
