Works by the author[edit]

How are different editions of works with the same title (by the same author) handled? Stringybark (talk) 21:01, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Use {{versions}} in the mainspace. In the Author: pagespace use indenting.

We do apply some caution when considering the hosting of multiple editions of the same work. If an edition is just a reprint (or is the American edition of a British publication) then there is no need to list it or host it. However, if there are significant differences between editions then a separate listing and hosting is welcome. For example: we should host both versions of Great Expectations as the endings are quite different. But hosting both versions of Psmith in the City is not needed as they were published simultaneously in London and New York and are essentially the same edition. Authority control[edit]

I can't find any information on the template "authority control" on this page. Is this template necessary? Dick Bos (talk) 09:21, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
