Chapter names and paragraph indenting
[edit]Hi, our policy here is to use Arabic numerals rather than Roman in chapter titles. This is about achieving a consistency across the site and it enables easy linking between works. I have proofread the table of contents for The Religious Aspect of Philosophy using the Arabic numerals and will shortly move the chapters to align.
With respect to indenting the first line of each paragraph, this is something we don't do per the Manual of Style. Creating a div for every paragraph is unneccessary because the WikiMedia software already does that for us. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 22:03, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Beeswaxcandle: I wasn't aware of the policy or of the style, so thanks for letting me know! I'm new to Wikisource, so I'm still trying to get the hang of it! Nullibiquite (talk) 03:25, 19 May 2019 (UTC)
- No worries. It took me a couple of years to get things sufficiently sorted. I look back at some of my early edits and wonder what on earth I was thinking. Please feel free to ask me questions about anything you're not sure of. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 04:57, 19 May 2019 (UTC)

Hi Nullibiquite,
There are only a few weeks left to take the Community Insights Survey! We are 30% towards our goal for participation. If you have not already taken the survey, you can help us reach our goal! With this poll, the Wikimedia Foundation gathers feedback on how well we support your work on wiki. It only takes 15-25 minutes to complete, and it has a direct impact on the support we provide.

Proofreading
[edit]Hi Nullibiquite, I proofread a page you edited in Philosophy Review and it was well done. I would like to support you to leave your pages "Proofread" :) My very first "project" at Wikisource was proofreading PR so it’s on my watchlist. I migrated to WS from the Gutenberg Project and I’ve stayed here because I enjoy proofreading as I read. I learnt my proofreading skills at Distributed Proofreaders which I really recommend. WS mostly follows the same rules and the training at DP is really good, gives consistent feedback and it doesn’t take long (a few hours at most) to pick up with the programme they have. Unfortunately, WS doesn’t have anything comparable and add the determined individual interpretation, it can be very discouraging here. I have the start of a WS version of the proofreading guides at DP here. I am a proofreader foremost and have struggled to learn wiki ways. Any supportive feedback would be gratefully received. Let me know if you need help with anything. Cheers, Zoeannl (talk) 20:35, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
Less formatting on transclusions
[edit]Hi. Please do not force transclusion formatting as was done on An Enquiry Concerning the Principles of Natural Knowledge/Chapter 1. The purpose of our presentation layouts is to enable users to be able to toggle through the various layouts and choose one that suits them, or even enable them to have their own. All about allowing the personal preference, and not forcing fixed formatting or fonts or sizes or ... onto users. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 21:54, 13 February 2023 (UTC)
- Probably worthwhile adding a link to WS:Style guide that talks about not indenting paragraphs, etc. — billinghurst sDrewth 22:24, 13 February 2023 (UTC)
Symbolism, Its Meaning and Effect
[edit]Hi, I have uploaded a new version of the file, where I reordered the pages that were out of sequence. If you see pages out of order, it is a cache issue, it might take sometimes to refresh. Mpaa (talk) 21:33, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
- It seems that the tool I used has removed the text layer (or maybe also the previous version had no text layer?). You can obtain the text layer page by page pressing the "Transcribe text" link on the right, when in edit mode. If it bothers you, I can save a copy of the text layer in all not existing pages and the you can edit them. Mpaa (talk) 21:47, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
