Peter Pan

[edit]

Hello TheDood. Please note that a work you are adding, Peter Pan, has previously been deleted as a possible infringement of copyright (see "Restore Peter Pan?", Proposed Deletions, June 2006). I've deleted the pages per criteria for speedy deletion G6 ("content previously deleted as a copyright violation"). // [admin] Pathoschild (talk/map) 16:45, 5 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi, just want to say that I love your recent contributions. :-) Danny 03:10, 8 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Halo

[edit]

Hi, TheDood,

I've marked the text you've been adding, Halo, as a copyright violation because of an incompatibility between how the author wants his text used the broader policies of both Wikisource and the Wikimedia Foundation. As the author does not allow for modifications of his work and does not allow people to distribute for money, Wikisource sadly cannot host it. You can read more about our policy here. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you for your interest in Wikisource, and you understanding of this matter.—Zhaladshar (Talk) 17:04, 8 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Author:Andre Norton

[edit]

Do you have any reason to believe these works are not copyrighted? Please read Help:Copyright and Wikisource. --BirgitteSB 12:57, 13 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes, according to Gutenberg, extensive research has shown these works have not had their copyright renewed. --theDood 15:12, 13 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

That's good news. You might want to set-up something like at the bottom of Author:H. P. Lovecraft because I am sure it will be a perinial question--BirgitteSB 23:12, 13 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
[edit]

I know you are aware about copyright issues, and it would really help if you would go ahead and put copyright tags on the texts. Especially the ones that are published after 1923, like the some at Author:Achmed Abdullah. Otherwise you are probably going to be asked for the reasoning on these texts individually as people work through looking for copyvios.--BirgitteSB 00:56, 7 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use image

[edit]

Hi TheDood; please reivew Wikisource:Image use guidelines and Wikisource:Copyrights ("Fair use is explicitly prohibited on Wikisource."). We can't upload non-free images (which a recent bookcover is) to use here, since that's fair use. If there's an old image on Commons, we could use that. I've listed the Moby Dick image on Wikisource:Proposed deletions. --Spangineerwp (háblame) 22:00, 30 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

License tags

[edit]

To save people the trouble of digging through the page on the copyright of Robert E. Howard's works, can you please add an appropriate license template to the works (or to new ones at least or when you're bored? {{PD-US-no-renewal}} seems to be most relevant. Thanks! --Benn Newman (AMDG) 04:34, 18 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Question...

[edit]

Is there something missing between Chapters 1 and 2 of "Mr. Midshipman Easy" ? There seems to be quite a disconnect... 68.39.174.238 05:58, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Chapter 7 of MME is also seemingly incorrect (Mr. Midshipman Easy/Chapter 7). 68.39.174.238 06:30, 20 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello TheDood. Please note that I have proposed that Image:Lovecraft.jpg be deleted as it may be in violation of Wikisource's copyright policy; I invite you to participate in the discussion taking place on Possible copyright violations. The text will be deleted in a week if there is no dispute that this work is copyrighted. Thank you for your interest in our project.
