Use new source for Logic of Chance

Index:Logic of Chance (1888).djvu, by John Venn is not a perfect scan. Another (and hopefully better) source for the same book is available here: https://archive.org/details/logicofchance00venn.

I would like to work on this book. How to go about it? Should one replace the current scan with the different scan or create a new Index page for the new source? Whatever be the case, can someone create an Index page for the new scan? I'm not familiar with how to go about it. Thanks. --Siddhant (talk) 17:05, 14 October 2015 (UTC)

Ok, so looks like the current scan is 3rd edition, while the one I linked to is 4th edition. So I guess will definitely have a new Index page. Can someone create one? Thanks. --Siddhant (talk) 17:09, 14 October 2015 (UTC)

Sophocles rebinding

Sigh...

It seems that File:Sophocles (Classical Writers).djvu has a pair of duplicate pages that need to be removed These are pages 86 & 87 in the DjVu file (a duplicate of pages 78 & 79 in the original volume). Could someone with the requisite skill please remove these pages (and perhaps let the Internet Archive know as well)? Thanks. --EncycloPetey (talk) 21:37, 5 February 2016 (UTC)

Hickie has 2 extra pages

The File:Comedies of Aristophanes (Hickie 1853) vol1.djvu is in need of repair. Two pages (DjVu 68 & 69) are superfluous scan errors, and should be removed. --EncycloPetey (talk) 03:52, 27 February 2016 (UTC)

I downloaded the djvu and deleted the pages, but then scanning the rest of the file noticed that pages 246 and 247 (as numbered in the source) are missing. There's a much better quality scan here: Internet Archive identifier: cu31924087931675, which is seems to be complete. It's an 1858 edition, rather than 1853 though, with many pages of unrelated book listings in the end. I'd suggest using it instead, but if it's important to have the 1853 edition, I could patch in the missing pages from the 1858 one ... Mudbringer (talk) 04:55, 5 March 2016 (UTC)
DoneWent ahead and inserted the missing pages, and uploaded. Mudbringer (talk) 06:30, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Browning volume with Google notice

Could someone please strip the Google notice from the front of File:Prometheus Bound, and other poems.djvu? --EncycloPetey (talk) 16:21, 20 March 2016 (UTC)

Origin of the Anglo-Saxon Race

We have scans of Origin of the Anglo-Saxon Race in two formats – one in pdf – Index:Shore T. W. - Origin of the Anglo-Saxon Race.pdf – uploaded in 2012, and one in djvu – Index:Origin of the Anglo-Saxon Race.djvu– uploaded in 2015. The scans are identical having the same source – that of the djvu file; the source given for the pdf is obviously wrong, as the linked document has a fair bit of foxing, which the uploaded pdf doesn't have.

I have proofread about half of the pdf version, although the embedded OCR is of such poor quality that I used the OCR button on every Page: that I did. The OCR on the djvu is, I believe, usable; and so far only the blank pages have been touched.

Can someone please move the proofread Page ns of the pdf version over to the djvu version and update the main ns links. It would be a shame if someone started to proofread the djvu version from scratch, when it is already half finished. Thanks — Iain Bell (talk) 15:54, 30 March 2016 (UTC)

Done Page moves have been completed by User:TarmstroBot, and I have updated the chapter pages to transclude from the djvu rather than the earlier pdf. The pdf Index page is still there (perhaps it should become a redirect?), and the move process left behind several redirect pages that presumably are not really needed. I should be able to convert them to {{dated soft redirect}}s in the near future so they will eventually go away. Tarmstro99 17:39, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
I think they can all be deleted. Let me know if you need help.— Mpaa (talk) 18:52, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
Done—I did leave a soft redirect from the original Index page, but all the empty content pages have been deleted as redundant. Tarmstro99 16:01, 10 May 2016 (UTC)

Cromwell djvu

Page 268 is missing in Index:CromwellHugo.djvu. I've found this page in another scan at HathiTrust’s digital library Having no experience in djvu file edition, could someone correct the file? Thanks. M-le-mot-dit (talk) 17:43, 24 April 2016 (UTC)

The statutes of Wales (1908).djvu

Index:The statutes of Wales (1908).djvu based on Internet Archive identifier: statutesofwales00wale is missing 2 pages, xlii and xliii, available from Internet Archive identifier: statuteswales01bowegoog. The index has place-holder pages. Can the missing pages be added from Internet Archive identifier: statuteswales01bowegoog? -- Outlier59 (talk) 22:39, 15 May 2016 (UTC) Done.— Mpaa (talk) 19:19, 16 May 2016 (UTC)

Could this and the efforts made on it be moved? The file was renamed at Commons. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 17:38, 28 May 2016 (UTC)

Done though it is a significant pain in the arse to do this sort of thing. Wish that you had determined here first whether it was necessary prior to getting it done at Commons. — billinghurst sDrewth 10:02, 29 June 2016 (UTC)
