Duplicating unfulfilled request here from WS:S#Repairs (and moves).

Print page 56 and the blank page opposite are missing (after djvu position 85). They are available on HathiTrust's copy here. Please interpolate and adjust pagelist accordingly. Thanks, Beeswaxcandle (talk) 07:59, 7 December 2022 (UTC)

Not available for me. Mpaa (talk) 14:57, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
@Beeswaxcandle: Not available here either. But since it's just two pages, if you have access to it you could check if you can download the individual page images and upload them here. I'm not sure if Hathi allows image downloads from these geolocked scans, but it's worth a shot. Xover (talk) 08:44, 16 December 2022 (UTC)
Page images uploaded to File:Papuan_Tales_seq_86.jpg and File:Papuan_Tales_seq_87.jpg. Because this work was done at the ESEAP conference, the transclusions from this page on will need adjusting after the interpolation. I'm happy to do that manually, if that's messy to deal with. Thanks, Beeswaxcandle (talk) 07:33, 18 December 2022 (UTC)

Notifying all members of Scan Lab (more info · opt out): (User:Inductiveload, User:Xover, User:Mpaa) Pages 762 and 763 are missing. If replacements can be found, that would be great, but failing that I'd like for placeholders to be inserted. Also, DJVU pages 200 and 201 are duplicate pages with scanning errors, and should be removed. Thanks! —CalendulaAsteraceae (talkcontribs) 20:48, 17 December 2022 (UTC)

Vol 9 of the Works of John Locke

From [1]. This will complete the set. Name should be The Works of John Locke - 1823 - vol 09.djvu so it matches the other volumes. MarkLSteadman (talk) 15:11, 1 January 2023 (UTC)

The Art of Japan (Brinkley)

I’ve borrowed both volumes, and have scanned in the first volume so far. Notifying all members of Scan Lab (more info · opt out): (User:Inductiveload, User:Xover, User:Mpaa) Could someone create a PDF/DVJU file from the images here, please? Thank you. TE(æ)A,ea. (talk) 03:41, 30 January 2023 (UTC)

Index:The Works of H G Wells Volume 7.pdf

Page xi (which should be on Page:The Works of H G Wells Volume 7.pdf/21) and xii (Page:The Works of H G Wells Volume 7.pdf/22) of this index are missing, and pages xiii and xiv have been included twice (as per discussion page). It would also be nice if this could be fixed, although the Atlantic edition is admittedly slow going. (As for the above, purging worked for one page and didn't for the other, so I think I'll just keep waiting). Thanks, TeysaKarlov (talk) 04:11, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

@TeysaKarlov I'll try to get this fixed today. Languageseeker (talk) 01:22, 18 January 2023 (UTC)

I'm not 100% on the bibliographic information, but the Yale University Library is apparently satisfied to categorize it under "Alchemy--Early works to 1800", so it seems safe. As far as I can tell the licenses should be something like PD-old-100 plus PD-US-unpublished. Shells-shells (talk) 04:12, 26 October 2022 (UTC)

Railway Construction and Operation Requirements for Passenger Lines and Recommendations for Goods Lines of the Minister of Transport

There is a 1950 edition of this that is used as a reference for hisorical standards in the Heratige Railway sector. (such as for example a Structure gauge, diagram.)

There may be later versions of this, but it's specfically pre 1972 versions, which would be of interest.

The 1950 (and 1963 reprint) are understood to be an expired crown copyright.

ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 11:08, 28 January 2023 (UTC)

@ShakespeareFan00: The British Library has it and it's listed as just 38 pages so you could probably just walk in there and ask to photocopy it (or bring a DSLR or recent phone). Alternately, it looks like you could order a scan for £12.80 if I'm reading their (rather confusing) website correctly. From different parts of their website it looks like you might also be able to use the inter-library loan service at whatever educational institution is nearest you to request a digital copy at a lower fee (or possibly even gratis, it was unclear). If you have convenient access to a local-ish university my suggestion would be to just walk in and ask a librarian for help.
Alternately, it looks there are multiple copies for sale at reasonable prices from AbeBooks. Xover (talk) 19:24, 3 April 2023 (UTC)
Thanks, I am aware of those sources, but I do not have the means to 'scan' pages into Djvu. I'm not sure what the BL's usage terms on supplied scans are. Do we have a GLAM contact at the BL?
The aim here was to find an existing digitised copy so that I could put the structure diagram on Commons, and to transcribe the document.
ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 19:36, 3 April 2023 (UTC)
@ShakespeareFan00: You don't have to scan to DjVu. Just get image files into a zip archive and upload it somewhere, and I can build the DjVu. The BL used to be really restrictive, claiming scanning copyrights and all that jazz, but now seems to have mellowed quite a bit. From what I could tell quickly looking at their website they now only attach onerous terms to stuff that's actually in copyright so expired Crown Copyright stuff may be ok. I'm not aware that we currently have a GLAM contact or resident there, but Wikimedia UK may have some contacts. As may Andrew Gray who was WiR there a decade ago. Xover (talk) 15:11, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
In response to the feedback here, I am withdrawing the request, until I am in a postion to actually provide something to work on. I consider this thread/request to be resolved. Thanks ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 16:44, 4 April 2023 (UTC)

The Laws and Acts of the Parliament of Scotland

Notifying all members of Scan Lab (more info · opt out): (User:Inductiveload, User:Xover, User:Mpaa) We have a 1681(?) combined edition of what was effectively republished as Volumes 1 and 2 of the 1685 reprinting. However there is apparently a "third" volume https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=ixY-AAAAcAAJ which extends the work nearly up to the Act of Union. Would it be possible for this to be added to English Wikisource at some later date?

I am also noting that IA has some volumes of the "The Acts of the Parliament of Scotland" which was published by the Record Commission in the Early 19th century. Would it also be possible for a suitable set of volumes to be located for that work. The original is a 12 volume set covering most of the pre Uninon Scottish statutes :) ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 10:04, 22 January 2023 (UTC)

Index:A voyage towards the South Pole, and round the world. Performed in His Majesty's ships the Resolution and Adventure, in the years 1772, 1773, 1774, and 1775 (IA b30413953 0001).pdf

These were uploaded from IA in good faith as part of Fae's mass transfer of IA books.

Missing scans for pages at ends of both volume 1 and 2. Not clear if IA actually has these, and I don't have a Wellcome Collection login to check their copy has the relevant scan pages. Any suggestions?ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 12:47, 24 January 2023 (UTC)

@ShakespeareFan00: Ta them as needing fixing, and what needs to be fixed, and forget about them? Unless someone is actually planning on working on these in the near future? A quick check at the usual suspects indicates there are no complete scans of the volumes of this work floating around. Xover (talk) 15:37, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
Pages 376 to 378 of volume 1 (it also appears to have additional plates) and pages 393 to 396 of volume 2 are available here https://nla.gov.au/nla.obj-53452298 under "Browse Collection" MarkLSteadman (talk) 17:01, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
If anyone wants me to do anything about these they're going to have to spoon-feed me what needs doing. Just looking at the indexes and the text above I'm unable to pinpoint what the problem is, much less what the fix would involve. Xover (talk) 13:49, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
Fair enough, my comment was more directed at @ShakespeareFan00 to do exactly that and compare the scans from IA and from NLA and decide on an approach going forward given NLA has the first edition and IA the second. Note that the Wellcome copy for the scans above is incomplete per https://wellcomecollection.org/works/j4r8bn9d. MarkLSteadman (talk) 15:37, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
I think this request is presently too undefined to be reasonably actionable, and as such I am going to tag it for archiving. Feel free to open a new request related to these scans once the issue is better described. --Xover (talk) 06:57, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
